BACK TO SCHOOL MOMENTS

A few months from now and it’s time to hit school again! Both parents and kids are already preparing for the big day. Families would go shopping for new uniforms, bags, books, and so on while others would simply compile the unused notebook pages and stitch the side to hold it together.

Fire Hits Laperal Again!

Early this morning (Tuesday), Makati was alarmed by news of fire in Laperal, Guadalupe Viejo.  Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) tweeted that there is a Task Force Alpha fire in  Viejo at around 12:21 pm. At 12:40 pm, the blaze reached the general alarm, taking every help that they need from all the firefighters in the neighboring community. Third tweet was informing the vehicles that the southbound lane is not passable. By 2:15 pm, MMDA announced that the situation is under control.

Reports say that because houses were made of light wooden materials, the fire heightened quickly. Mayor Jun Jun Binay however made a way to help the residents by sending out tents. Also, MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said that some of the families will be transferred to a gymnasium to shelter the affected families.

Reports are still ongoing on what caused the fire.

4 Days Without a Mother

It was planned a long time ago. Mom would go to Baguio for a vacay trip with her friends. I wasn't worried at all knowing I had been left alone before. That was what I thought until last Friday when I saw my mom pack her things. I felt a sudden kick of agitation. "I will be home alone!" Well, not really. I got 3 cats and a canine with me. I texted the BFF if she could come over and sleep for the night but there were no replies. My mind was in panic mode already. Argh!

20 Throws minus 1 Blow = Another Blog Post

I was thinking of what to post on this blog but no idea seems to nest in my head. So I just opened my folder to start on my VA job when I found this entry that I saved from Clarissa. This is not a meme. NO title was even given to the entry. Maybe this is the answer I need to have another blog post. And so I started answering these 19 Questions. Q’s that I do not really have to answer but I wanna:

AVIDA TOWERS CENTERA’s 3D Street Painting Festival

Last March 16, I tried passing my sites to this person who needs bloggers to cover their 3D Street Painting Festival which was held on the 18-19th of the same month. I was really surprised that my art blog was chosen for the event.

IGOROTA in the CITY

Growing up in the city, I admit I was a bit ashamed of my family’s lineage. Whenever a classmate or a friend bullies someone, I would hear them say, “Mukha kang Igorot!” (Translated: “You look like an Igorot!”). It made a very deep impact on me as a child. I told myself that I would never let them know that inside of me runs 50% of that blood. I was afraid they would make fun of me…

SIGNS OF THE END TIMES?

Everyone was really shocked for what happened in Japan yesterday. The 8.9 magnitude earthquake triggered the tsunami that literally ate the whole town. I was so horrified I immediately pick up the phone and called my dear grandma to know if our 2 loved ones in the country are safe. Unfortunately the lines were cut and even she couldn't connect to Japan. I was praying real hard at that time as I was watching the breaking news. Worried for my aunts and worried for the tsunami alert here in the Philippines.

At around 5 pm my Tito called and assured me that the aunts are safe experiencing half of the quake's aftermath. Thank God!

Browsing the facebook, I saw most of the friend's status message saying that Bossing [God] is coming!  The things that we are experiencing now are the signs of the end times. Christians arise. Wake up! There is a vast harvest, God needs workers!

Facebook-aholic!

Whenever I have to do important online tasks, I always find myself facebook-ing first. As I type gmail in the address bar, the history would always show the facebook address tempting me to ‘check your account, there might be notifications in your posts or something.’ Before I close my eyes, I would check fb in my nokia 6600 bargaining myself with thoughts like, ‘just 1 more minute and then I’ll sign out.’ But then again, as expected it’s past 1 am and still I’m there checking my friend’s status messages which doesn’t really concern me at all.
Then I realized I’m facebook-aholic! I don’t know if it’s the right term. Oh men! So last Friday, I intentionally challenged and committed myself not to check my account for one whole week. Well, just to make sure I can do it, I even deleted the history cache in my cell phone. It’s been what, 5 days already? Yep! I am on the right track! Woot!
Maybe I’m not a facebook addict after all. Haha!
