20 Throws minus 1 Blow = Another Blog Post
I was thinking of what to post on this blog but no idea seems to nest in my head. So I just opened my folder to start on my VA job when I found this entry that I saved from Clarissa. This is not a meme. NO title was even given to the entry. Maybe this is the answer I need to have another blog post. And so I started answering these 19 Questions. Q’s that I do not really have to answer but I wanna:

IGOROTA in the CITY
Growing up in the city, I admit I was a bit ashamed of my family’s lineage. Whenever a classmate or a friend bullies someone, I would hear them say, “Mukha kang Igorot!” (Translated: “You look like an Igorot!”). It made a very deep impact on me as a child. I told myself that I would never let them know that inside of me runs 50% of that blood. I was afraid they would make fun of me…

Facebook-aholic!
Whenever I have to do important online tasks, I always find myself facebook-ing first. As I type gmail in the address bar, the history would always show the facebook address tempting me to ‘check your account, there might be notifications in your posts or something.’ Before I close my eyes, I would check fb in my nokia 6600 bargaining myself with thoughts like, ‘just 1 more minute and then I’ll sign out.’ But then again, as expected it’s past 1 am and still I’m there checking my friend’s status messages which doesn’t really concern me at all.
Then I realized I’m facebook-aholic! I don’t know if it’s the right term. Oh men! So last Friday, I intentionally challenged and committed myself not to check my account for one whole week. Well, just to make sure I can do it, I even deleted the history cache in my cell phone. It’s been what, 5 days already? Yep! I am on the right track! Woot!
Maybe I’m not a facebook addict after all. Haha!

HOW TO GET YOUR ADSENSE APPROVED!
Today, I was really, really, really, really, and really surprised when checking my email, found out that Mr. Google Adsense approved my account. Whew! It took me months to get it done with and now, here it is. When I was new in blogging, mentors really advised me to apply for this account to earn additional profits. And so I did. But it was denied for about a gazillion times until I cannot access my account anymore. So what I did was create a new account. For months I thought my blogs will not be approved for adsense. Then one day, one of my blogger mentors taught me to use SEO friendly template and remove my other sidebar gadgets that links outside the page because Mr. Google doesn’t want to see your page as a link farm. I did everything she told me. And now, this very day, I got my Adsense approved!

College Graduates live longer than undergrads
I was inside the MRT train when I heard this incomplete news. "College graduates are more likely to live longer than those who did not finish high school." Top of the mind question was "WHY" but I was left hanging with that question.hmm..Do you know why?

I'm gonna be a teacher goal #2: First Day of Class
Yesterday was my first day of school. The night before, I set my alarm to 5:30 am and my beau decided to call me on the same hour just to be sure I wake up early. The plan worked until I looked up the clock and was shocked to see that it's 7am already! I rushed to finished my breakfast, brushed my teeth, combed my hair, wore my shoes and kissed mom goodbye.
I was brisk walking just to get to my first class when I saw students standing at the lobby of the building. I headed to room 303 but it was still closed. I checked my cell phone, it's almost 7:30. A student asked when will the professor arrive and she was informed that we have to wait at least before 8am. I thought to myself, "I should've taken my time enjoying my breakfast..."
I got 4 subjects to finish on this semester which I will have to attend every Saturdays from 7am-7pm. I have $1.5 in my pocket to survive the whole day. At first, It was hard for me to adjust because almost all my classmates were already mothers, which was difficult for me to relate to them when they talk about their children. But then before the day ends, I was able to have my group of friends. I really thank God for helping me out on this.
I survived my first day! Haha

I'm gonna be a teacher goal #1: Inquiring to continue my studies
Last 2006, I attended and completed 12 teaching units at University of Makati but wasn't able to continue due to other big plans that came. This week, I took time to think things over, on what do I really want in my life, where do I want to be 5 years from now considering all the experiences and trainings I've gone through over the past years. Being an I.T. instructor in my previous work, I do really enjoy teaching and sharing my thoughts and knowledge with my students. I feel fulfilled at the end of the day. And when graduation comes, my heart bursts with so much joy when my trainees show how much they appreciate me being their trainer.
So, I came to my resolve that I will continue my Certificate in Teaching Program to be able to take a licensure exam and be a certified teacher! I went to the same university yesterday to inquire if they will credit the 12 units I have finished 3 years ago. I was very thankful when I got to talk to the dean, which happened to be my former professor, and she told me what to do and my units will be credited when I take the LET examination. Yehey! She then gave me the list of subjects I should take and as I was writing down, I was very happy with my schedule for I only have to go to school on saturdays from 7am to 7pm.
Now, this is the situation. The last time was easy for me since the tuition fee then was Php1,500. I was shocked when I learned that today's tuition costs 500 per unit meaning I have to pay Php 6,000 each semester. Where will I get that resource?
I prayed real hard. I talked to Mama when she got home. She listened. I was expecting the worst yet hopeful. She told me that she'll lend me that amount for my tuition. Wow! Thank God.
I am really excited to enroll on Saturday. Beau's willing to help me with my other finances too. I will take this seriously and finish the program. I WILL BE A TEACHER!

Today, Find a Job! Tomorrow, the World!
Three weeks ago, I went to a job hunt at Scope Works Asia. Together with a friend, we decided to take the chance to be a scopist or a conversion agent in the said company. At the reception area, we waited from 1pm up to 3pm for us to be interviewed. After the question and answer part, we were asked to go to 20th floor of the building because that's where we will take our exam. I, together with another examinee, took the exam. I was looking for my friend but I assumed that she was taking the test on the other room. After the 1st and 2nd set of exams, the other applicant was asked to wait outside, leaving me to finish the 3rd test - the typing speed assessment. The thing I love about this exam was all I have to do is listen to an audio and type what she/he has to say. Very easy? Yes. But you have to have typing skills to do so. I was shocked when the voice stopped and the evaluation popped up on the screen. I got a rating of 98%, with less mistake plus the speed. Wow!
After the examination, I was interviewed again and was advised to wait for a call. Honestly, I wasn't really hoping for a call, but I was surprised to receive a text message yesterday that I am scheduled for a job interview TODAY.
No definite time was indicated on the message so I chose to go there at around 1pm for me not to wait hours again like before. Another reason is that I feel I'm not in the mood to go there. Talked to my beau about this and he encouraged me to just try because this is an opportunity knowing that I have been praying hard enough for 3 months to have a job again.
On my way, Scope Works Asia's HR department called me and asked if I was already employed. I said no and added that I am on my way there for a job interview. I found it a bit weird that she called me but it boosted my energy that I really have to give this a shot. Arriving there, the guard recognized me, which is cool, I didn't wait long.
I wasn't interviewed like what they texted me. The HR personnel gave me a 10-page examination assessing my language skills. I took the test for one and a half hours and was informed to wait for the result tomorrow. For the meantime, she asked me to prepared the necessary papers needed for employment.
I was really glad knowing that God has put me to this, even if I didn't like it at first, still He made His way miraculously in answering my prayers. I love you God. Amen.

FACEBOOK STATUS #1
SARAH is trying to rearrange her life, define her goals and think of ways how to improve herself to be a -not so perfect but blameless - counselor. She realized that even if God leads her to other church in the future, she will still be what He wants her to be, from the training she have acquired in SBC Makati/JIVE to the things that time has taught her. She may have lots of mistakes that other people might and will throw her, but she will be strong enough to answer them that she is TRYING and DOING everything to make up for those sinful times. She loves God so much to let herself dwell on her past mistakes and tire herself of thinking shoulda-woulda-coulda's. She will be happy nomatter what. She will get back up again. Even if she has fallen seven times, she is stubborn enough to take that leap for the 8th time. She has this one motto "Things will be different tomorrow." And even if it doesn't change, she still hopes that there is another day after tomorrow where situations for her will take it's toll. God is GOOD ALL THE TIME. HE WILL NOT FORGET HER.Period

Newest member of the Family
A year ago, two of our most loved dogs died of an epidemic which gave trauma to the family. This year, I was in debate with my brother when he talked to us about having another dog. I was hesitant keeping in thoughts about what had happened. But last Sunday, my mind changed after seeing this cute little puppy handed to us by my mom's sister. Who could resist such a charm?
